Nepse closed 2.4 points up at 380.12 levels.

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (Nepse) opened at 377.12 level and closed at 0.63% or 2.4 points higher to close at 380.12 levels at the end. Today market was mostly dominated by Insurance Sectors with lots of ups and down seen in various companies from that side. Market was trading at lower level in starting but later on gained up momentum due to strong buyers’ demand on blue chips companies at the later hours of the session.
In today’s session, Life Insurance Company Nepal (LIC) Limited 65% Bonus share followed by 25% Right share distribution declaration news to its shareholders made it top gainer of the day at Rs 838 with Rs.76 or 9.97% higher than last traded price. On the contrary, Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) no dividend declaration in its 2067/68 fiscal year AGM announcement news made it top looser of the day at Rs 810 with Rs 89 or 9.90% down than last traded price. Likewise, Rara Bikas Bank Limited (RARA), closed at Rs 73, topped the category of highest transaction by means of 124 transactions. Similarly, National Hydropower Company Limited (NHPC) was the highest share traded company with 61,400 units and Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) had the highest turnover worth Rs.15,618,546 with 18,312 units via 81 transactions; in which Broker no 29 (Trishul Securities And Investment Limited) was the most active broker with 34.83% stand alone buy dealing of CHCL, amounting Rs 5,440,000 of 6,400 units.
Sectoral wise, Others sectors had the highest gain of 2.08% followed by Hydropower and Banking with 1.49%, and 0.34%. On the other side, Insurance sector suffered the highest loss of 0.52% followed by Finance, Development Bank, and Hotels with 0.22%, 0.08% and 0.079% points respectively. Sensitive index climbed by 0.69 or 0.71% point to settle at 97.75 points while Float index gained 0.059 or 0.02% point to close at 29.93 points.
Total scrips traded for the day was 80 with 36 gainers and 32 losers with total turnover of Rs 49,040,161 which is comparatively Rs 7,690,989 or 18.60% higher than prior trading session. Overall 188,311 units of shares were traded via 1,031 transactions with total market capitalization of Rs. 359,173.13 millions.
