NEPSE BREAKS THE DOWNFALL

Nepal Stock Exchange today has broken the continuous downfall seen since 21st November as the market index surge by 8.43 points to close at 490.36 levels. From the beginning of the market, the benchmark Nepse was all in a bullish trend as it made the high of 492.12 points in the initial first hour . But later with the absence of buyers in the market, the local bourse came down to close at today’s closing.
Among the sub-indices apart from Manufacturing sub-indices all were in the green zone. After two days incline in Manufacturing index, today it came by 1.37 points. The decline in Manufacturing was mainly because of the fall in the price of Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Ltd. by Rs 20. As for the remaining sub-indices i.e. Banking, Finance, Development, Hotels, Insurance, Hydro and Others surged by 10.55, 0.68, 0.97, 15.52, 12.07, 27.48 and 5.87 points respectively.
Under Banking, among the 27 scrips traded only Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB), closed at Rs 185, declined by Rs 9 or 4.64% making it the highest decliner today. Whereas the scrips like Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI) all increased by more than Rs 20. Similarly, the boost in all the three scrips under Hydro today helped in its hefty growth. Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC), Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) all propel by Rs 17, Rs 28 and Rs 30 today.
Likewise, the scrips of Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) had high demand today as its book closure date is tomorrow, i.e. 5th December which provided a boost in the price level of SHL. The scrip closed at Rs 326 adding Rs 12 in its tally, the surge in this mainly contributed in Hotels jump today. While, the ascendency in the price level of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) and Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 42 and Rs 32 today also supported the climb in Insurance sector. Whereas the rise in the Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) scrip by Rs 5 contributed in the soar of the Others sector.
Overall there were 85 scrips traded among which 55 scrips increased, 11 remain intact and only 19 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Surya Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SLICL), closed at Rs 163, with Rs 14 or 9.40%. In case of highest share traded, Citizens Bank International Limited Promoter Share (CZBILP), closed at Rs 100, topped with 119,000 units whereas in ordinary shares, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBBL), closed at Rs 245, topped with 33,630 units.
In terms of highest turnover, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), closed at Rs 829, topped with 22,546 units worth Rs 18,398,640 via 97 transactions; in which Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) was the most active broker with 18.26% stand alone dealing of NIB, tallying 4,110 units worth Rs 3,360,223 via 9 transactions which includes one matching transactions of 942 units worth Rs 752,658.
The total turnover today was Rs 109,654,687 which is comparatively Rs 44,209,561 or 67.55% higher than prior trading session. Overall 391,112 units of shares were traded via 1,266 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 464,679.53 Millions.
