Nepse Breaks 120 Days High

Today Nepal Stock Exchange surpassed the 120 days old high of 416.37 level set on May 17 to close at 418.08 level. The increase in the buying pressure in the scrips of NTC, SCB and Chilime at the end of the session mainly help to boost the Nepse further up at the closing session. With 3.73 points gain today, the market index continued its rally form for third straight day.

The announcement of SCB’s proposal of 15% bonus share and 45% cash dividend in the market today, helped to set a positive mood among the investors towards the Banking sector. Till the end of the day, Banking sector added 1.17% points in its tally. With the announcement, the scrip of SCB was able to add Rs 29 to close at 1,829 but 7% cash dividend proposed by Grand Bank did not create the same  impact for its scrip as it lost Rs 3 to close at 175.

Similarly, other two Banking and Financial Institutions indices Development and Finance also rose by 0.49% and 0.04% respectively. Among the 39 scrips traded among the Development sector 19 scrips gain help to uplift the sector. Likewise, the gain in the Citizen Investment Trust helped to keep the Finance sector away from red zone.

Among other sector sub-indices, Hotels sector was the top gainer as the two scrips traded under it i.e. Soaltee Hotel Ltd. and Oriental Hotel Ltd. climb by Rs 10 and Rs 1 assist in its 2.55% incline. Whereas, the raise in NTC by Rs 11 supported the growth in Other sector by Rs 1.03%. Similarly, climb in NLICL, NLIC, NICL along with other 4 scrips aided in the today’s growth of Insurance sector by 0.33%. Likewise, today also Trading sector added 0.49% points in its tally.

The one and only one decliner for the day was Hydro sector as the fall in the Butwal by Rs 5 outweighed the Rs 3 gain of Chilime resulting in the sector’s loss by 0.04%.

Today the total scrip traded was 103, among which 51 scrips increased, 17 remain intact and 35 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME), closed at Rs 255, as today also it added over 9% amounting Rs 23. Whereas, Salt Trading Corporation (STC), closed at Rs 202, was the Top loser with Rs 59 or 22.61%.

In case of highest share traded, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBBL), closed at Rs 151, topped with 47,011units. In terms of turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) topped the category. Overall, 16,632 units worth Rs 18,268,408 via 77 transactions were done of CHCL; in which Broker no 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 48.16% stand alone dealing of CHCL , totaling 8,008 units worth Rs 8,799,774 via 15 transactions.

The total turnover today was 84,247,226 which is comparatively Rs 6,231,091 or 6.88% lower than prior trading session. Overall 244,651 units of shares were traded via 1,563 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 396,404.3Millions.
