NEPSE BREACH 500 LEVELS

The secondary market today breached 500 levels to close at 500.23 levels. The market index had been trading below 500 level ever since the market index plunged below this level on 30th April, 2013. Though the market was in the green terrain at the day’s end, it was not the same in the initial phase as the benchmark index traded below the opening level for most part of the session; it was only in the last 30 minutes the market picked up pace to surge by 2.77 points to close over 500 levels.
Among the sub-indices, Hotels, Development and Finance suffered loss of 0.76, 0.22 and 0.28 points respectively. Whereas, Others sector made a huge gain of 9.4 points followed by Insurance with soar of 8.2 points. Likewise, Banking made gain of 2.27 points, Trading ascended by 2.88 points and Hydro made jump of 1.49 points.
Overall there were trades of 83 scrip among which 37 scrip increased 19 remained intact and 27 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Arun Finance Limited (ARUN), closed at Rs 49.64, with Rs 4.51 or 9.99% gain. Whereas, Rising Development Bank Ltd. (RDBL), closed at Rs 96, was the worst performer with Rs 9 or 57% loss. Among the shares trading above par, Agricultural Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), closed at Rs 235, was the top gainer with Rs 12 or 5.38% gain. Whereas, Maha Laxmi Finance Ltd. (MFL), closed at Rs 160, was the worst performer with 8 or 4.76% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1) , closed at Rs 10.70, topped with 92,977 units. In terms of ordinary scrips, Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs 168, topped with 36,030 units. In case of turnover, National Life Insu. Co.Ltd. (NLICL), closed at Rs 531, topped with 12,239 units Rs 6,259,649 via 7 transactions; in which Broker no 16 (Primo Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 97.20% stand alone dealing of the NLICL, tallying 23,814 units worth Rs 12,169,354 via 4 matching transactions.
Altogether there were trade of 390,149 units of share via 1,122 transactions worth Rs 71,066,610; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 495,729.50 Millions.
