NEPSE BOUNCES BACK TO LIMIT ITS LOSS TO MEAGER 0.63 POINT

The only secondary market of Nepal made a remarkable comeback in last hour to limit its loss from double digit figure to meager 0.63 point. By the end, the Nepse settled at 1040.59 level.
After witnessing massive selling pressure in banking scrips, the market came to plunge by nearly 15 points to 1026.92 level. The decline in banking scrips like Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) mainly triggered the fall.
However, by the start of last hour buying spree was observed in banking scrips which mainly attributed to market index bounce back.
Banking sector by the end of the day came to settle with 0.78 point gain while Development and Finance were not so lucky as both settle with losses of 1.08 points and 3.34 points respectively.
Among the rest of the sub-groups, Others tumbled by 2.35 points, Insurance decreased by 12.29 points and Hotels fell by 2.84 points. As for Hydro, it increased by 1.07 points.
All in all, the scrips of 145 companies were traded, out of which 58 scrips gained, nine remained intact and 78 scrips lost.
Reliable Development Bank Limited (REDBL), closed at Rs 305, was the best performer today with gain of Rs 22 or 7.77 percent. Whereas, Nepal Insurance Co.Ltd. (NICL), closed at Rs 510, was the worst performer today with Rs 31 or 5.73 percent loss.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 2582, had the highest turnover among the traded shares. Altogether, 15,943 units share of CHCL were traded through 115 transactions worth Rs 40,751,629.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 47 (Neev Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 11.40 percent totaling 3,630 share units amounting Rs 9,296,857 via 11 selling transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 530,114,186, with total number of shares traded at 1,168,849 units which were traded through 4,687 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 1,062,459.89 Millions.
