NEPSE BOUNCED BACK TO LIMIT ITS LOSS; MASSIVE TRANSACTION OF NLICL

The only secondary market of Nepal today witnessed a bounce back in latter hour of the trade to limit its loss to meager 0.07 point. After making a recovery, the benchmark index came to settle at 844.42 level.
Attributed by the decline in the price of banking, insurance and others sectors’ scrips, the market experienced downfall from the initial hour of today’s trade.
After an hour of trade, the market had plunged by more than six points; however, the latter improvement in the above mentioned subgroups, the local bourse limited its loss below one point.
Banking, Insurance and Others sub-indices which had witnessed huge loss in the beginning hour, by the end of the day came to narrow its decline to 3.54 points, 47.14 points and 1.18 points respectively.
While, Hydro made a massive gain of 32.23 points followed by Hotels with 14.53 points. Similarly, Development and Finance also incremented by 8.63 points and 0.45 point respectively.
Altogether there were trade of 137 scrips, among which 69 scrips gained, 14 scrips remained intact and 54 scrips suffered loss.
Seti Finance Limited (SETI), closed at Rs 166, was the top performer today with gain of Rs 15 or 9.93 percent whereas Cosmos Development Bank Limited (CSDBL), closed at Rs 141, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 12 or 7.84 percent.
As for the highest turnover, National LifeInsu. Co.Ltd.’s (NLICL), which closed at Rs 3052, topped the chart with a colossal turnover of Rs 109,643,012.
Following the company’s notice regarding its AGM on 13th June to endorse 72.5 percent dividend – 55 percent bonus share and 17.5 cash – and proposal to shore up its paid up capital to Rs 2 arba , the investors lured onto this scrip today.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NLICL was Broker No 49 (Online Securities Pvt.Ltd) with 66.89 percent standalone dealing, totaling 49,590 units worth Rs 146,688,350 via 33 transactions, which include eight matching transactions tallying 22670 units worth Rs 66,919,850.
The market turnover today stood at 387,769,673, with total number of shares traded at 727,270 units which were traded through 2752 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 861,397.55 Millions.
