NEPSE BOUNCE TO SUSTAIN IN GREEN PASTURE

After trading below the previous week’s closing   for two and half hours, the benchmark index bounce to close in the green terrain today. With the Nepal Banda called by the 33 political parties including Mohan Baidhya led CPN-Maoist today, the market had a little movement in comparison to previous days. Though the local bourse was in the red zone for most of the time in today’s session, the increment in the Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) in the last half hour helped to revive the market in the north direction. All in all, the secondary market of Nepal today surge by 2.74 points to close at 516.02 levels.

Following ascend in the NTC, the overall market also moved in the positive correlation with the scrip as the entire seven traded sector landed in the green zone. Others sector inclined by 3.53 points, mainly contributed by NTC’s growth of Rs 9. Likewise, Insurance made a hefty gain of 16.59 points following the jump in the level of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 160 or 8.21% which was the highest among the traded scrips today. Also, the gain in the scrip of Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLICL) and Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIL) by Rs 14 each also contributed in the sector’s growth.

Similarly, the incline in the scrips of NABIL Bank Limited Promoter Share (NABILP), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI), Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB) along with another 13 scrips helped to push the Banking sector further up by 0.91 points. As for, Development and Finance both also surged by 0.28 and 0.32 points respectively.

While, soar in the value of Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL) and Taragaon Regency Hotel (TRH) uplifted the Hotels sector by 9.07 points whereas, the climb in the price of Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 10 and Rs 5 respectively propelled the Hydro sector up by 6.51 points.

Overall there were trades of 84 scrips among which 40 scrips increased 13 remained intact and 31 scrips decreased. The highest loser for the day was, Multipurpose Finance Co. Ltd. (MPFL), closed at Rs 67, with Rs 6 or 8.22% loss. Among the shares trading above par, Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL), closed at Rs 120, was the worst performer with Rs 4 or 3.23% loss. In case of the highest shares traded, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1), closed at Rs 11.51, topped with 121,600 units.

In terms of turnover, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 665, topped with 9,997 units worth Rs 6,603,067 via 31 transactions; in which Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 40.20% stand alone dealing of BOK, tallying 4,015 units worth Rs 2,654,100 via 3 transactions which includes one matching transactions totaling 3,175 units worth Rs 2,095,500.

Altogether 265,821 units of shares were traded via 1,041 transactions worth Rs 54,325,878; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 501,000.81 Millions.
