Nepse below opening level

The secondary market of Nepal for the entire session traded below the opening level. The benchmark index which opened at 408.44, till the half of session had suffered 2 points loss. But as the day came to an end, the market index managed to pull up to 407.89 sustaining only 0.55 points loss. Despite a descent turnover amount, the market was not able to push further up as the two of the heavy weighted sub-indices in Nepse suffered loss along with Development sector.
In Banking sector the loss in the scrip of NSBI, SCB, BOK along with other major banks dragged down the sub-indices by 0.47% points. From today onwards the scrip of Global IME Bank Ltd, which is the merged form of Global Bank and IME Financial Institution and Lord Buddha Finance Limited, started its trading with the ticker GBIME, the scrip traded between the range of Rs 175 - Rs 163 to closed at Rs 175.Whereas the fall in the price of NTC by Rs 2 pulled the Others sector by 0.35%.Similarly, Development sector also dropped by 0.56%.
Likewise, among the other sectoral indices that gained the most was Insurance sector as it added 4.04% followed by Hotels, Manufacture, Hydro and Finance with 0.94%, 0.54%,0.18% and 0.17% points gain respectively . Among other sub-indices, Sensitive index plummeted by 0.28 or 0.27% to settle at 104.96 level while Float index also dropped 0.008 or 0.03% points to settle at 30.7 level.
In overall day’s transaction, Nepal life Insurance Company (NLIC), closed at Rs 1102, was the Top Gainer with Rs 100 or 9.98%. On the other side, Shangrila Dev. Bank Ltd (SADBL), closed at Rs 155, was the Top Loser with Rs 17 or 9.88%.
In case of highest transaction and share traded, Hama Merchant & Finance Ltd. (HAMA), closed at 60, had the highest transaction with 661 transactions and 31,870 units. Whereas in the category of highest turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1100, had the highest turnover with 7,580 units worth Rs. 8,303,444 ; in which Broker No 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt.Ltd ) was most active broker with 30.68% stand alone dealing of CHCL, totaling 2,324 units worth Rs 2,548,152 via 10 transactions which includes 2 matching transaction of 258 units worth Rs 281,984.
Total scrips traded for the day were 92 with 38 gainers, 9 intact and 45 Losers .Overall day’s turnover was of Rs 61,514,878 with 212,235 units of shares were trade via 1,903 transactions. The total market capitalization at the end of day was Rs 385,998.11 millions.
