Nepse at 41days High

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) which had been hovering between the level of 380 to 408 level for past one month, today surge by 6.04 points to 411.86 level breaking the 41 days record high of 408.35 level set onJuly 23rd, 2012. The political parties urge to break the current political deadlock in the country has been the fundamental support for the Nepse climb.

 

Among the 95 scrips traded today, 64 scrips gained whereas 11 scrips remain in tacit and 20 scrips suffered loss. The highest gainer among the stock traded today was City Development Bank Ltd.(CDBL) , closed at Rs 178, with Rs 16 or 9.88% gain. The news of Company’s BOD proposal of 15% cash dividend and 15% of bonus shares to its share holders which are subject to approval from NRB and upcoming AGM contributed in today’s raise of the CDBL scrip. Whereas, Hama Merchant and Finance Ltd. (HAMA), closed at Rs 88, was the Top Loser with Rs 9 or 9.28%. This scrip has been in decreasing trend since 15th July, till date the stock has come down by Rs 144.The company in the fiscal year 2068/69 posted the net profit of Rs 0.79 million.

 

Sectoral wise, all sub-indices climbed today. In the forefront was Hydro sector , as the gain in the scrips of Arun valley, Butwal power and Chilime pushed the sub-index by 2.19% points. Similarly, Banking followed the line with 2.18% points climb as the scrips apart from Janata, NBBL and NMB rallied to press the Banking sector further up. Likewise, Development,  Hotels, Others, Insurance and Finance also added 1.29%, 0.98%, 0.68%, 0.43% and 0.13% points respectively in their tally.

 

Among other Sub-indices in Nepse, Sensitive index increased by 1.73 or 1.65% points to rest at 106.36 level while Float index also rose by  0.437  or 1.43% to close at 30.95 level.

 

Today the highest transaction was of Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd., closed at Rs 130, with the number of 120 transactions. Whereas, Everest Bank Limited (EBL), closed at Rs 1,105 ,also had the highest share traded and turnover. Overall,  10,791 units worth Rs 11,859,579  via 93 transactions were done of EBL; in which Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 46.22% stand alone dealing of EBL , totaling 4,991 units worth Rs 5,481,203 via 23 transactions in which 5 were matching transaction of 2,700 units worth Rs 2,963,700.

 

The total turnover today was 57,582,427 which is comparatively Rs 12,452,443 or 17.78% lower than prior trading session. Overall 153,337 units of shares were traded via 1,497 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 389,753.59 Millions.
