NEPSE again slides by 9.34 point to settle at1149.45 level; Lowest index of last 52 days

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange went down by 9.34 points or 0.81% to close at 1149.45 level. It has reached as low as this after August 16. On August 19 Nepse had created a new high of 1191.92 level. The market has been in a downward trend from past few days and it is expected to continue in downward trend as dashain, first quarter end of fiscal year 2072/73 and IPO worth Rs 2 arba from HIDCL is approaching. Political instability and uncertainty of the blockade has also played a vital role in pushing the market in downward trend. Opening at 1158.79 level this afternoon, the local bourse came down to a level of 1140.70 during second trading hour of the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 35.87 crore where more than 7 lakhs unit shares were traded through 1,784 transactions. Sensitive index and the float index went down by 1.88 points and 0.63 points respectively. Except finance, all other sectors landed in red. Hotels, Hydropower and Insurance plunged by double digit.
