Nepse again bullish; gains 16 more points today; turnover crosses Rs 69 crore

Sustaining the bullish trend since yesterday, or rather the closing minutes of the previous day, the Nepse index has added 16.31 points today to close at 912.32 levels. With this the market has gained around 30 points in just two days.
This comes at a time when the market was expected to be rather sluggish for the festive season. This is the strongest indication that the market has not only stabilized by is set to surge if not before Dashain then after that.
It is interesting to note that the benchmark index posted such an impressive gain though two out of the seven sub-indices – the Finance and Manufacturing group – actually ended in red terrain while the Others group remained stagnant as yesterday. The market was basically propelled by the Banking group, which covers around 80 percent of the total market cap as well as Insurance sub-index.
The Banking group posted a gain of 20.49 points, Hotels group gained 31.79, Development Bank group posted 2.42 and the Hydropower gained just 0.93.
On the other hand, Finance group posted a marginal loss of 0.44 points; so did Manufacturing group of 0.28 points.
The total market turnover today stood at awesome Rs 69.69 crore, which comes in stark contrast to the poor turnovers of the past few days. But the anti-climax here is that the bulk of the turnover was related to NIBL promoter shares.
