NEPSE ADVANCES BY 1.3 POINTS

Making its way upward in the last hour of the session, the NEPSE index today added 1.3 points to its tally.
Continuing its yesterday’s bearish movement, the market remained under the red zone for the first hour. Then, in the second hour, came to make slight recover before tumbling its way again in the bearish path.
However, like that of preceding trading days, the local bourse became active in the hour. And, contrary to its prior day’s movement, the market index today advanced in the last few minutes to settle at 543.13 levels.
Unlike of prior day’s trend where the volatility of NEPSE at end minutes was complemented by Others sector, today Banking sector underpinned in the benchmark index movement.
Improvement in the Banking sector by 2.57 points today mainly helped boost the secondary market today. Along with it, the 4.26 gain of Insurance, 4.54 surge of Hotels and 3.2 points leap of Hydro also supported in today’s market rally.
While, Development , Finance and Others failed to do so as all of them dropped by 0.37, 0.01 and 3.52 points respectively.
All in all, 95 scrips were traded, out of which 37 scrips gained, 25 remained intact and 33 scrips lost.
The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPCL), closed at Rs 59, with Rs 5 or 9.26 percent growth whereas, among the shares trading above par, Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL), closed at Rs 242, was the top gainer with Rs 12 or 5.22 percent.
While, Bank of Kathmandu Promotor Share (BOKPO), closed at Rs 481, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 28 or 5.5 percent whereas, among the ordinary shares trading above par, Paschimanchal Bikash Bank. (PDBL), closed at Rs 159, was the top loser with loss of Rs 6 or 3.64 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was of Bank of Kathmandu Promoter Share (BOKPO) with Rs 17,187,227 totaling 35,390 units which were carried out through 3 transactions.
As for the highest turnover among the ordinary shares, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC) , closed at Rs 59, topped with 231,386 units worth Rs 13,217,194 via 88 transactions .
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NHPC was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 49.06%; amounting Rs 12,970,160 via 60 transactions totaling 226,510 units which include 2 matching transactions tallying 46,010 units worth Rs 2,576,560.
In the overall market, 550,224 unit shares were traded by 1,400 transactions worth Rs 119,275,471. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 546,279.59.
