NEPSE ABOVE THREE YEARS’ HIGH

Today the secondary market of Nepal bullish further to make the level of three years’ high; previously this level was reached on the month of December 2009. From the initial trading, the benchmark index was all flying high in the green pasture; it was only at the middle part of the session that Nepse saw a little correction then again climbed at the closing hour to close at high note. Overall, the local bourse added 10.84 points to close at 536.51 points.
The turnover amount also sky rocketed today as it stood around Rs 192 million which is Rs 41 million or 21.50% higher than the prior trade. This is the second time within two weeks time that the Nepse turnover reached this amount indicating the existence of high liquid in the market as well as the presence of both buyers and sellers in the market and increase in their confidence. The number of transaction today stood at 1,892 times through which 505, 882 units of share were traded; the market capitalization at the end of the day was Rs 516,856.88 Millions.
The sub-indices also had a good run today as all the sectors ended in the green pasture. The highest gainer among the sub-indices was Banking sector as it surge by 15.88 points; among the 27 scrip traded under it , only 3 declined, while the hefty increase in the level of SCB, NABIL, NBL, HBL, EBL, NSBI and BOK along with other 17 contributed in Banking growth .Likewise, Development and Finance soar by 0.06 and 4.33 points respectively; the jump in the price of Nilgiri Bikas Bank Limited (NBBL) by Rs 15 mainly boosted the Development sector whereas incline in Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) by Rs 123 supported in Finance jump.
Similarly, Others sector also had a hefty gain of 7.05 points as the rise in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 7 helped to push the sector further in green terrain . As for Insurance, Hydro and Hotels, they all climbed by 2.34, 1.51 and 1.32 points respectively. Under Hydro, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) added Rs 3 and Rs 2 in their respective tally.
Overall there were 81 scrips traded among which 48 scrips increased, 14 remain intact and 19 scrips decreased. The highest gainer of the day was International Leasing and Finance Co. (ILFC), closed at Rs 124, with Rs 11 or 9.73% gain. Whereas, Nepal Consumer Development Bank Ltd. (NCDBL), closed at Rs 118, was the highest loser with Rs 13 or 9.92%.
In case of highest share traded, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 155, topped with 58,656 units. In terms of highest turnover, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 711, topped with 41,254 units worth Rs 29,023,729 via 168 transactions; in which Broker No 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 22.11% stand alone dealing of BOK, tallying 9,249 units worth Rs 6,417,794 via 5 transactions which includes 2 matching transaction totaling 8,000 units worth Rs 5,535,000.
