NEPSE 63 MONTHS HIGH

Driven by the positive whim in the insurance and hydro sectors’ scrips, the market today made a double digit growth of 10.83 points.
With the leap, the market today breached the previous high of 806.82 levels, set on 18th Dec, 2013, to make the higher high of 814.56 level, which is the 63 months high figure.
Last time the market observed this level was back in the month of November, 2008.
Following the massive surge in the insurance and hydro scrips, the stock market, which had been consolidating near to the range of 800 level despite political deadlock, acquired a catalyst to breach over prior height today.
Breaking the trend, the insurance sector today witnessed the highest trading of 40 percent of overall market transactions. While, the banking sector, which always used to observe highest trading, today slipped to second position with 31 percent.
Attributed by the fact that all the 18 traded insurance shares today landed in green zone with impressive growth figures, the insurance sector came to make a triple digit growth of 134.97 points.
Similarly, in Hydro also, all the traded four shares today increased by healthy figures to propel the sector by 26.13 points.
Contributed by the growth of above two mentioned sectors’ shares in early session, the banking and financial institutions scrips also came to witnessed healthy increment coming to the end of the day as Banking added 6.14 points, Development increased by 7.55 points and Finance propelled by 11.96 points.
As for Hotels, it inclined by 34.59 points while Others remained intact at 790.67 level.
Altogether there were trade of 131 scrips, among which 97 scrips gained, 13 scrips remained intact and 21 scrips suffered loss.
The best performers among the traded scrips were Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL), closed at Rs 451, and Prudential Insurance Co. (PICL), closed at Rs 385, with a gain of 10 percent i.e. Rs 41 and Rs 35 respectively. Whereas, Bishwa Bikas Bank Limited (BSBL), closed at Rs 225, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 10 or 4.26 percent.
The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC), closed at Rs 740, with turnover of Rs 21,419,032, totaling 29,342 units which were traded through 82 transaction.
The Broker with the highest transaction of PLIC was Broker No 49 (Online Securities Pvt.Ltd) with 24.17 percent standalone dealing, totaling 14,249 units worth Rs 10,356,033 via 21 transactions, which include four matching transactions tallying 5,788 units worth Rs 4,201,600.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 309,608,393, with total number of shares traded at 819,114 units which were traded through 2,787 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 829,624.52 Millions.
