NEPSE 50 DAYS’ HIGH

Continuing its positive momentum, the benchmark index today further added 4.91 points to its tally. With today’s incline, the market index came to stand at 50 days’ high; last time the local bourse reached this mark was back in first week of March. The Nepse index today closed at 820.38 level.
The surge in the insurance today also kept the market ticking in the green direction from the beginning of trade. Similarly, the floating of banking and financial institutions’ scrips in the upward direction attributed to further escalation in the market index.
Though the tumble in Others and Hydro sectors’ scrips made a negative impact on the progress of Nepse index in the mid session, the hefty gain in the Hotels and Manufacturing scrips helped to overcome the loss.
Hotels and Manufacturing today made an astounding gain of 82.71 points and 61.34 points respectively. Alongside them, Insurance also continued with its bullish trend as it added 60.47 points.
As for Banking sector, it surged by 2.3 points followed by Development and Finance with an increment of 1.33 points and 2.21 points respectively.
While, Others suffered a massive decline of 7.05 points and Hydro dropped by 1.56 points .
Altogether there were trade of 131 scrips, among which 74 scrips gained, 9 scrips remained intact and 48 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Uniliver Nepal Ltd. (UNL), closed Rs 12903, with a gain of Rs 1173 or 10 percent. Whereas, Matribhumi Bikas Bank Limited (MTBL), closed at Rs 160, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 15 or 8.57 percent.
Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), which closed at Rs 5400, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 12,008 units of NLIC were traded through 25 transactions worth Rs 62,141,675.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NLIC was Broker No 49 (Online Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 86.91 percent standalone dealing. Altogether, 10500 units of shares were traded through four matching transactions worth Rs 54,012,000.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 336,831,028, with total number of shares traded at 568,181 units which were traded through 2,421 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 836,071.17 Millions.
