Nepali Youth Receives Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship; Ms. Rupsi Parajuli from KUSOM receives coveted recognition

Ms. Rupsi Parajuli has received the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship, a total of US $10,000 in prize money. Application for Ms. Parajuli was received by Zonta Club Kathmandu, Nepal led by Ms. SeemaGolchha, president of this organization. Then the club nominated her to the District. Ms. Parajuli won in Zonta District 25. She was then nominated for Zonta International JMK Scholarship. We congratulate her and we know that she will be a great role model for many girls who aspire to study business and be in a leading position and help other women be empowered.

Ms. Rupsi Parajuli is from Biratnagar and is a third-year undergraduate student at Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) and has been an academically sound student since her school years.

Besides her studies, she has been working as the Country Director of International Youth Alliance for Peace (IYAP) Nepal since 2019 where her main role has been to identify, conceptualize and initiate new programs related to SDGs. Moreover, she is also one of the Founding Members and a writer at ‘Humans of Kathmandu’.  She is also the Co-founder of ‘Explore Idea’.

Apart from these, she is also involved as a youth volunteer at GPF and FPAN Nepal.

With her passion for learning, meeting people, and traveling, she has been fortunate enough to participate in several sponsored national and international conferences. She was invited to participate in the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) at Harvard University, USA. Likewise, she was the best Idea Pitcher while participating in Promoting Asian Leadership (PAL), Japan.  She was one of the presenters at UN, Bangkok during the Asia Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE). Similarly, she has also been an international delegate at Youth Space South Asia, Sri Lanka, and South Asian Co-Consultation, Thailand.

She has been recognized as the valedictorian at her high school graduation, Global College of Management.  She has also worked as one of the judges for the SDGs project during the STEAM Challenge organized by Karkhana and the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology of Nepal.  She was also recognized with the Most Confident Award, National Youth Feast, National College, Nepal.

The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship is a Zonta International program funded by contributions to the Zonta International Foundation. Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

32 scholarships of US$2,000 each at the district/region level and  6 international scholarships in the amount of US$8,000 each were available.
