Nepal Telecom to lower tariff

KATHMANDU, SEP 14: 

Nepal Telecom (NT) will change its tariff structure to be effective from September 17, according to spokesperson Guna Keshari Pradhan. NT has reduced its Domestic Long Distance call rate to Re 1 (excluding taxes) for a minute, according to NT. “Consumers can call at Re one from their PSTN, CDMA, VSAT and fixed line telephones from one zone to another after September 17,” said Pradhan. Similarly, the rate for local calls has also been reduced to Re one for each call (two minutes) excluding taxes, NT said. NT said it will scrap the current tariff structure which varies during business hours, normal hours and off hours. It has already reduced the tariff for a call to a mobile phone from a fixed line telephone to Re one. It has said it will continue providing facility of 175 calls at minimum charge of Rs 200.
