Nepal SBI Bank Joins NEPALPAY Card Network to Promote Domestic Payment Innovation

Nepal SBI Bank Limited has partnered with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) to become a principal member of the National Payment Switch–National Card Scheme (NPS-NCS) and the NEPALPAY Card system.

This collaboration enables Nepal SBI Bank to issue and acquire NEPALPAY Cards, Nepal's domestic card scheme aimed at enhancing interoperability, reducing reliance on international card networks, and promoting digital innovation.

With the infrastructure now ready, financial institutions are joining the system. NCHL, which already supports over 54 banks and financial institutions, expects this initiative to transform Nepal’s card ecosystem. Nepal SBI Bank currently operates 100 branches, 22 extension counters, and 125 ATMs nationwide.
