Nepal SBI Bank Contributes Rs. 71 Million to Earthquake Victims

As per the press release sent by Mr. Ramesh Ghimire, Company Secretary & Chief Information Officer of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. has contributed Rs. 70,911,911.81 for the relief and rehabilitation of the earthquake victims. Mr. Alok Kumar Sharma, the Bank's Managing Director and Mr. V.K. Tyagi, Dy. CEO handed over the contribution amount to the Honorable Prime Minister Sushil Koirala through a bankers' cheque drawn in favor of Prime Minister Disaster Relief Funds, amidst a program organized today in the Prime Minister's Quarter, Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

On receipt of the Bank's cheque, the PM appreciated the Bank Management for having been able to make significant contributions towards relief and rehabilitation of the quake victims and extended his sincere thanks to the Bank. The PM also assured that the funds contributed by the Bank would be utilized at the best interest of the victims. The Bank had voluntarily run a fund collection campaign in national and international level to contribute to the victims of devastating earthquake that hit the country in the recent past.  

On the occasion, Managing Director Mr. Sharma apprised the PM on the Bank's profile in brief. The Bank has 56 branches, 78 ATMs, besides 3 Regional Offices, with lowest NPA in the country. The Bank is a subsidiary of State Bank of India (SBI), which is a "Fortune" 500 companies in the world and the largest public sector bank in India and the second largest public sector bank in the world.

The Bank higher functionaries including Chief Risk Officer Mr. Chhapi Raj Pant, the Chief Manager Mr. Bishnu Dev Yadav and Company Secretary Mr. Ramesh Ghimire were also present in the program.
