Nepal Life Insurance Company has provided Rs. 1 crore to the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program to support the construction of a multi-specialty children's hospital in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. The agreement was signed by Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, KIOCH's founding chairperson, and Nepal Life CEO Pravin Raman Parajuli.
KIOCH’s hospital project is in its final phase, with a clinical research building already operational. During the signing event, both parties expressed their commitment to improving pediatric healthcare in Nepal. Nepal Life highlighted its ongoing CSR efforts and pledged future support for establishing similar hospitals across all provinces.
Dr. Koirala appreciated Nepal Life’s contribution, stating it would accelerate the project and strengthen their mission. KIOCH aims to function as a national resource center for pediatric healthcare, training, policy development, and quality standards. The organization has already launched its first operational hospital, KIOCH-Damak, which offers a full range of pediatric services, including emergency care, intensive care units, and modular operating theaters.
