Nepal Insurers Association Contribute Rs.3.47 Crores to Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund

The Nepal Insurers Association has contributed Rs.3.47 crores to the government’s flood relief and reconstruction efforts following the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi on Bhadra 10.

A delegation led by Association Chairman Manohar Das Mul presented the contribution to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on Bhadra 17 in the presence of chairpersons and chief executive officers of participating insurance companies.

The contribution came from the association and eight non-life insurance companies, including Siddhartha Premier Insurance Co. Ltd., Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Co. Ltd., Nepal Insurance Ltd., Neco Insurance Ltd., Prabhu Insurance Ltd., United Ajod Insurance Ltd., Sanima GIC Insurance Ltd. and Himalayan Everest Insurance Co. Ltd.

Employees of Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance, Himalayan Everest Insurance and United Ajod Insurance also contributed Rs. 26,23,018, which was handed over along with the main contribution.

NLG Insurance and IGI Prudential Insurance had already provided financial assistance, while other non-life insurers are also preparing to contribute.

The association said insurers would prioritize claim settlements for damaged projects, infrastructure, property and other insured assets once loss details are received. Finance Minister Wagle thanked the insurance sector for its support during the crisis.
