Every year, Nepal imports raw materials for the incense light worth one billion rupees from India.

Owner of Devenara Incense Light Industry, Beni Gopal Mundada, said although Nepal has the possibility of producing incense light within the country, it is bound to import from India.

The raw materials are imported from Utter Pradesh, Delhi, Karnatak, Gujrat and Rajasthan of India.

The incense light is used in holy rituals and festivals in Nepal.

According to Mr Mundada, the production cost of incense light in India is less costlier than that of Nepal as industrialists get grants and subsidies in India.
