The Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO), Department of Immigration (DOI), and Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) have enabled international card payments in the Government of Nepal’s Revenue Management Information System (RMIS). This integration allows international tourists to pay for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA/e-visa) and visa-on-arrival services using multiple international cards through the DOI’s online portal and Tribhuvan International Airport.

The initiative, announced by Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal, aims to simplify online visa applications, enhance service delivery, and expand e-payments for government revenue collection. As part of the National Payment Switch, the system is expected to extend to other government departments, further boosting digital transactions. In FY 2081/82, NCHL processed NRs. 1,219 billion in government expenses and NRs. 366 billion in revenue-related transactions.
