Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the need for effective policies to promote investment and guarantee security for the private sector. Speaking at the 29th anniversary of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON), he highlighted that a lack of investment-friendly policies has hindered economic growth, job creation, and financial stability in Nepal.

Agrawal noted that domestic investors require assurances similar to bilateral agreements made for foreign investors, and that outdated monetary policies over the past four years have pushed over 150,000 entrepreneurs into bad loans. He urged the government to create a conducive environment to boost private sector morale, stimulate investment, and fully utilize the country’s abundant natural resources and youth workforce.
