Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Rajendra Malla emphasized the need for a well-defined timetable to enhance capital expenditure for development. He expressed concern that despite spending on current expenses, the achievement of economic prosperity is hindered by the inadequate allocation of capital expenditure.

Chairman Malla highlighted the limited 25 percent capital expenditure in the current financial year, attributing it to reduced government spending, which has impacted economic activity. He urged timely completion of infrastructure projects to ensure effective capital expenditure.

Malla recommended aligning development projects with the government's spending capacity in the upcoming fiscal year, focusing on job creation, export promotion, and industrial capacity expansion.

He stressed the importance of coordinating budget and monetary policies to achieve common goals. Additionally, Malla noted the sluggish pace of the country's economy, citing unmet expectations in reducing loan interest rates as a factor hindering investment attraction.
