A special meeting was held in Lhasa, the capital of China's Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region, to encourage investment, trade, and tourism in Nepal. Organized by the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa, the event aimed to strengthen economic cooperation between Nepal and China. Business owners at the gathering highlighted that Nepal offers great opportunities for growth and encouraged Chinese companies to consider investing there.

The event was led by Consul General Laxmi Prasad Niraula, while Consul Sabin Bhattarai gave a detailed presentation showcasing Nepal's business environment, travel attractions, and key areas open for investment. A total of 113 people attended, including high-ranking government officials from the Xizang region, Chinese investors already working in Nepal, and Nepalese and Chinese business representatives from the tourism and trade sectors.

The Chief Guest, Xizang's Executive Vice Chairman Zhao Peng, praised the Consulate for its role in strengthening relations between the two countries. He noted that China and Nepal share a deep friendship built on mutual respect for each other's independence and territory. Highlighting Nepal as a peaceful and beautiful destination, Peng encouraged Chinese investors and tourists to visit and do business in the country.

During the event, Consul General Niraula thanked the Chinese central government, the Xizang region, and the Chinese public for their continuous support. He reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to its partnership with China, assuring that Nepalese land would not be used against any friendly nation. Before the main program, Niraula and Peng also held a private meeting to discuss boosting trade at border points, improving border infrastructure, and making it easier for Nepalese citizens living in Xizang to secure visas and travel permits.
