Nepal Airlines Corporation has been operating special rescue flights to bring back Nepali citizens stranded in various West Asian countries after regional airspace disruptions.

According to spokesperson Devendra Pun, a total of 272 Nepalis stranded at Dubai Airport were brought back to Nepal on Thursday through a special rescue flight.

The same aircraft had earlier transported 260 passengers from Tribhuvan International Airport to Dubai Airport, helping travelers who had been stuck in Nepal due to the ongoing flight suspensions.

Spokesperson Pun said another Nepal Airlines flight will depart for **Dubai International Airport today carrying 267 passengers, and will bring back 164 stranded Nepalis on its return journey.

Rescue operations began after airspace over parts of West Asia remained closed since February 28, disrupting regular international flights.

The suspension followed heightened tensions in the region after the United States and Israel jointly carried out an airstrike in Iran, forcing several countries in West Asia to temporarily halt air travel operations.

Nepal Airlines said it will continue monitoring the situation and operate additional rescue flights if necessary to assist stranded Nepali citizens.
