NEA Announces Scheduled Electricity Disruptions in Kathmandu Valley for Infrastructure Upgrades

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has issued a notice informing residents of anticipated electricity disruptions in several areas of the Kathmandu Valley, commencing today and continuing on specific dates. The disruptions are attributed to ongoing undergrounding work of electrical lines within the Ratnapark distribution center.

According to the NEA's schedule, the following areas will experience electricity service interruptions: Nayabazar on Thursday, Naya Bazar and Chhetrapati on May 18, Bhimsensthan on May 19, and Bhimsensthan and Tripureshwar area on May 21.

Specifically, today's interruption will affect Naya Bazaar feeder, encompassing locales such as Khusibu, Sohrakhutte Chowk, Valley Cold Store, and People's Dental Hospital. Similarly, Chhetrapati feeder areas including Teku, Pushpalal Park, Dhalko, Chhetrapati Dhobichaur, and others will also experience disruptions.

On May 19, power outages are expected in Ward No-12 Ward Office, Hyumat, Jaisideval Chikamugal, Bhimsensthan, and Kasthamandap under the feeder. May 21 will witness interruptions in Bhimsensthan and Tripureshwor feeder areas, affecting Teku, Pachali Bhairav Mandir, Bamsi Ghat, and others.

The NEA has scheduled the disruptions from 11 AM to 5 PM for the specified areas under the mentioned feeders.

Residents are advised to plan accordingly for the temporary electricity disruptions and take necessary precautions to mitigate any inconvenience.
