Ncell hit by nationwide network failure

KATHMANDU, Dec 2:
Ncell mobile network suddenly failed on Saturday evening leaving more than 8 million customers across the country cut off from services for almost 3 hours. Its customers could not make or receive calls, send text or use data during the period.
The service resumed at around 8:45 pm though. Sanju Koirala, corporate communication director of Ncell attributed the problem to a technical glitch.
“The system was shut down because of technical error. Now it has been sorted out completely,” she told Republica. Koirala did not disclose what the technical glitch was.
She, however, said that the company´s engineers were checking into the details to identify the cause of network failure to assure it does not happen in the future.
