KATHMANDU, July 2:

Nepal Bank Ltd (NBL) has re-opened its branch at Urlabari, Morang district. The coordinator of the bank’s management committee Prof Dr Devraj Adhikari inaugurated the branch. The Urlabari branch was closed down during the Maoist insurgency, he said, adding the bank has plans to open such branches across the country considering their economic feasibility. The bank is carrying out reforms to be competitive and has plans to introduce Core Banking System in the near future to provide enhanced banking services. “Nepal Bank has been able to earn profits for the last nine years since it introduced the financial sector reform programme,” said Adhikari.
