NBI holds eighth annual general meet

KATHMANDU:
National Business Initiative (NBI) held its eighth annual general meeting (AGM) under the chairmanship of Padma Jyoti, today, in the Capital, said a statement issued by NBI.
“At the opening session of the AGM, NBI team interacted with lawmakers of the major political parties in regard to the concerns of private sector in the new constitution, which is going to be promulgated by January 22, 2015,” the statement read.
Addressing the interaction session, Padma Jyoti, president of NBI raised a wide range of issues that needed to be addressed in the new constitution. Jyoti has laid emphasis on property rights without setting any limits, and equal distribution of state resources, among others.
“NBI has been demanding such economic rights from the first Constituent Assembly and regularly interacting with lawmakers to secure economic freedom,” said the statement.
The annual general meeting also unanimously passed the report of General Secretary Surendra Bir Malakar and Treasurer Sukuntalal Hirachan in a close session.
