National Statistics Office And Chamber of Commerce Sign MoU for Economic Census
National Statistics Office and Nepal Chamber of Commerce have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support data development, management and the effective implementation of the National Economic Census 2082.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Chief Statistics Officer Dhundiraj Lamichhane and Chamber Director General Devendra Lamichhane, and will remain valid for five years.
Chief Statistics Officer Kamal Prasad Pokharel said more than 831,000 economic establishments have already been counted, with a target of covering around 1.5 million establishments nationwide. He stressed that cooperation with the private sector is essential for the success of the census.
Chamber President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal highlighted the importance of reliable data for long-term economic planning and policy-making. Under the agreement, both organizations will collaborate on data collection, analysis, awareness campaigns, economic literacy programs and promotion of reliable digital statistics systems.
