National Assembly to Discuss Budget Bills and Ministry Allocations Today

The National Assembly of Nepal is set to convene at 1:15 pm today to hold crucial discussions on several economic and budget-related bills, including deliberations on the government’s annual expenditure plan under the Appropriation Bill, 2083.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat of Nepal, the meeting agenda includes the presentation of official messages received from the House of Representatives of Nepal regarding two important financial legislations, the Economic Bill, 2083, and the National Debt Recovery Bill, 2083.

The documents will be tabled before the assembly by National Assembly Secretary Tul Bahadur Kandel, paving the way for formal discussions on the proposed fiscal measures and debt management framework for the upcoming fiscal year.

Following the tabling of the bills, lawmakers will engage in detailed group discussions on budget allocations proposed under the Appropriation Bill, 2083, focusing on expenditure plans of several major ministries.

The ministries scheduled for discussion include the Ministry of Industry Commerce and Supplies Nepal, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Nepal, Ministry of Forests and Environment Nepal, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs Nepal, Ministry of Energy Water Resources and Irrigation Nepal, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal, Ministry of Finance Nepal, and Ministry of Defence Nepal.

The assembly will also deliberate on proposed budget allocations for several key constitutional and executive offices, including the Office of the President of Nepal, Office of the Vice President of Nepal, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Nepal, and the National Planning Commission Nepal.

The discussions are considered an important step in finalizing the country’s fiscal framework and government spending priorities for the upcoming year.
