Nabil Bank Limited has launched skill-based financial literacy and entrepreneurship development training targeting agricultural workers across 16 rural locations in Nepal. The program began on Wednesday, Baishakh 9, in Sinja Rural Municipality of Jumla and will expand to 15 additional locations within the current fiscal year.

Conducted in collaboration with local governments across Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, the initiative aims to benefit around 500 individuals engaged in or planning to start agricultural businesses.

According to CEO Manoj Kumar Gyawali, the training will provide practical knowledge on savings, budgeting, loan management, insurance, and investment options. The program seeks to strengthen financial literacy, reduce unemployment, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable economic growth.

As part of its corporate social responsibility and sustainable banking approach, the bank aims to promote self-reliance in rural communities by identifying participants’ interests and equipping them with relevant skills.

Participants will also receive technical training in areas such as goat farming, pig farming, buffalo rearing, mushroom cultivation, and vegetable farming, along with guidance on business opportunities, marketing, and financial management. The initiative emphasizes environmentally friendly and socially responsible investments that support long-term economic benefits.
