MPs to taking stock of PEs

Economic and Labour Relations Committee under Legislature Parliament today formed Public Enterprises Management subcommittee to carry out study on the management and chances of effective operation of public enterprises. A twelve member subcommittee, headed by Shusheela Kandangwa will formulate its 'terms and responsibility' and study procedure itself, the committee decided. Most of the public sector companies are bearing loss, committee members said, adding that comprehensive analysis of such enterprises is needed to identify why they are incurring losses whereas similar kind of private companies are making profit. It should also carry out the possibilities of operating public entities in effective manner, president of the committee Shusheela Kandangwa said.
