Mountain Energy Nepal’s Q4 Profit Surges 29.08% to Rs. 79.70 Crores

Mountain Energy Nepal Limited (MEN) has reported a net profit of Rs. 79.70 crores in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2082/83, registering a strong 29.08% increase from Rs. 61.74 crores recorded in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) increased to Rs. 25.52, compared to Rs. 23.72 in Q4 of FY 2081/82.

Mountain Energy’s revenue stood at Rs. 1.53 Arba, up 17.31% from Rs. 1.30 Arba a year earlier. Meanwhile, finance costs declined to Rs. 20.19 crores, while administrative expenses decreased by Rs. 4.22 crores during the review period.

On the balance sheet front, the company’s paid-up capital increased by 20% to Rs. 3.12 Arba, while reserves and surplus grew 17.93% to Rs. 1.58 Arba. Borrowings, meanwhile, fell by 17.05% to Rs. 2.23 Arba, reflecting a reduction in the company’s debt burden.

The company’s net worth per share edged down to Rs. 150.78 from Rs. 151.67 in the corresponding period last year. At the end of the quarter, its price-to-earnings (PE) ratio stood at 22.30 times, while the market price per share was recorded at Rs. 569.00.
