Most offices paint bleak financial condition
KATHMANDU, MAr 27:
At a meeting of the Second Four Monthly Programmes Review and Development Problems Resolution Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications, economic condition of most of the offices was presented as vulnerable.
The statistics presented by the concerned chiefs show that they had reached a condition that they were not able to provide even salaries to their staffs.
The meeting was chaired by Minister of State for Information and Communications Surita Kumar Saha.
Ministry Secretary Abanindra Kumar Shrestha said suggestions for problems resolution on approved programmes were not received.
He also pointed out that planning was weak in all bodies and called for making it effective.
National Information Commission Secretary Srikant Pant urged to make arrangements for publicity even from mobile to spread the message of right to information for all.
Director General of the Department of Information Laxmi Bilas Koirala said more than five new media were registered daily and budget for advertisement was insufficient.
RSS Acting General Manager Basudev Shrestha, Gorkhapatra Corporation Chairman Ramkishor Singh, NTV Acting General Manager Deepak Mani Dhital, and Nepal Telecom Executive Director Amarnath Singh also presented their problems and progress report.
