Monetary policy under attack from experts

Economic expert Chiranjivi Nepal said the monetary policy unveiled by the government and the Nepal Rastra Bank will not address the financial problems.
Both the budget of this fiscal year and monetary policy were distributive, he said speaking at an interaction organised by Media Vision in the Capital on Wednesday.
Former President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Surendra Bir Malakar said the government has ignored the private sector and prioritised the cooperative sector over it. He also urged the private sector to maintain professional discipline.
Similarly, Chief Executive Officer of Clean Energy Development Bank Manoj Goyal and Vice-Chairman of Finance Association Chinta Mani Bhattarai said that 150 MW of electricity can be generated yearly if the government can take the banks and financial institutions into confidence.
