Sharesansar, 16th June:

The reaction of the market towards the announcement of election date met with the mixed reaction today.  Following the opening of trade, the market index within the first 15 minutes climbed up by more than 3 points but in the latter movement, profit booking dragged the Nepse again to the starting level. However, at the end the local bourse was able to surge by a meager 0.57 points to close at 494.91 levels.

From the today’s market activities, it suggests that the investors are still in doubt regarding the election. Despite the fact that the government has announced 4th November as the election date, the Bandha called by the agitating parties still raises questions of whether the current government will be able to bring all the parties into confidence and create a conductive environment in future.

Though the Nepse didn’t make a hefty surge, the boost in the turnover was the positive sign in the market today. In comparing to the prior day trade, the market turnover today climbed by 71.19% tallying at Rs 113,410,218.Overall 280,297 units of share were traded via 888 transactions and the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 490,363.68 Millions.
