At the 2025 Global Citizen Festival, MetLife announced a major three-year partnership with Global Citizen, the world’s largest movement to end extreme poverty. The collaboration aims to advance education, financial empowerment, and community resilience worldwide.

As part of the initiative, the MetLife Foundation pledged $9 million to the newly established FIFA | Global Citizen Education Fund, which seeks to raise $100 million to expand access to education and sports for children globally. This aligns with MetLife Foundation’s long-standing commitment to education and financial literacy.

MetLife CEO Michel Khalaf highlighted that the partnership reflects the company’s mission to build “more confident futures” by promoting financial health and education. Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans emphasized that the partnership will strengthen their collective impact in tackling global challenges through joint campaigns and events like the Global Citizen Festival and Global Citizen NOW summits.

Since its founding, MetLife Foundation has contributed over $1 billion to social causes, reinforcing its role in fostering inclusive economic mobility and resilient communities.
