MetLife Nepal has signed an agreement with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) for automating payments via its National Payment Switch (NPS).

The agreement will make it faster and easier for customers to pay premiums and receive claims benefits, as NCHL is connected with all major banks and financial institutions in the country. It will also enable MetLife Nepal to automate other payments including; disbursement and collection, agent commissions, surveyor payments, salary payments, vendor payments, as well as investment placements.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, Vice President & General Manager of MetLife Nepal and Mr. Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO of NCHL. “We’re always looking for ways to make things easier for our customers and we’re pleased that this agreement with Nepal Clearing House will enable our customers to pay their premiums with greater ease and receive payments faster during times of need.” Said MetLife VP & GM, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha.

NPI is a consolidated interface that helps to seamlessly connect multiple payment systems of NCHL, which is now a part of the National Payment Switch. It has over 55 Banking & Financial Institutes (BFI) within the network and is being used by more than 80 non-bank institutions including Payment System Providers/Payment System Operators, insurance companies, remittances, merchant banks, Government, Semi-Govt institutions, large corporates etc.
