Mero Microfinance Laghubitta reported massive growth in businesss volume in Q2; How did it perform in terms of profitability?

Mero Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MERO) published the second-quarter report of FY 2077/2078 with 71.64% increment in Net Profit. As per the report published by the company, the net profit increased to Rs. 14.07 crores as compared to Rs. 8.19 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The borrowings of the company increased by 104.29% to Rs. 7.29 Arba which was Rs. 3.57 Arba in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s loans and advances have also increased by 104.24% to 10.47 Arba in this quarter.
The net interest income (core revenue) has increased by 25.09% to Rs. 30.26 crores compared to Rs. 24.19 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The paid-up capital of the company increased to Rs. 1.00 Arba in this quarter and its reserve and surplus stood at Rs. 34.53 crores which is an increase of 28.83% in this quarter.
Its annualized earnings per share (EPS) stands at Rs. 28.15. The new worth per share is Rs. 134.54. The company traded at a P/E multiple of 36.42 times.
