Mega Bank stands as financial partner with pioneering solid waste-based fertilizer and fuel manufacturers; to utilize solid waste to produce biofertilizer and CNG
Venture Waste to Energy with Mega Bank as financial partner, Dharan sub-metro and Renewable Energy Promotion Centre have collaborated to begin production of fertilizer and bio-gas from a waste product at Dharan-6 Paanbari.
The pioneering work in solid waste management was jointly kickstarted amid a program that was also attended by Prime Minister Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of Mega Bank Mr. Bhoj Bahadur Shah, and CEO Ms. Anupama Khujeli who inaugurated the plant with an installed capacity of 30 metric tons and which is capable of producing 1000 kg of biogas, 500 kg of solid biofertilizer and 10 thousand ltr of liquid fertilizer in a daily basis, as per the media statement.
The produced gas will be utilized to produce CNG, the liquid fuel for the auto-rickshaw service that is currently under operation at Dharan while the bank under its CSR initiative will provide 10 CNG converters to the needy auto drivers, as per the media statement.
