Mega Bank opens dozen branch

KATHMANDU, April 19:
Mega Bank Nepal Ltd formally inaugurated its 12 branches making the total of 13 branches including its head office.
“The expansion of our branch network will enable us to further enhance our customer base and business volume,” said CEO of the bank Anil Shah.
The bank that has commenced operations since last July has already formed over 19,000 customer relationships and mobilised deposits in excess of Rs 3.4 billion and disbursed loans over Rs 4 billion.
The bank that has 1,219 promoters ranging from various professional background of middleclass families spread over 63 districts will further assist to provide financial services to the nation’s large corporate houses and businesses through Mega Corporate, serve small and medium businesses through Mega SME and will penetrate rural market through Mega Micro with the vision to facilitate ‘Financial Inclusion for Economic Empowerment’.
The branches opened today are from Baneshwor and New Road in Kathmandu to Arghakhachi, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Butwal, Chautara, Hariwan, Jawalakhel, Kapan, Pokhara and Syaffrubesi.
“The commencement of operations of these 12 Mega Branches is the first wave in our network expansion plans,” Shah said, adding that next fiscal year the bank plans to open 15 more branches to make a total branch network of 50 over the next four years.
“Mega Bank is committed to providing financial solutions to not just the top, middle or bottom of the pyramid, but to strive towards providing financial solutions and economic linkages to the ‘Entire Economic Pyramid’,” said chairman of Mega Bank Prof Dr Madan Kumar Dahal.
