Mega Bank goes branchless in Dhading

KATHMANDU, June 1: 

Mega Bank Nepal started yet another of its branchless banking service supported with state-of-the-art technology from yesterday in Sunaula Bazar of Dhading with a view to provide banking services to the rural populace.

Chief executive of Mega Bank Nepal Anil Keshary Shah inaugurated the Branchless Banking Service in Sunaula Bazar with a motive to take banking services to the citizens of rural Nepal. “The bank is focused on establishing 17 Branchless Banking Service outlets in different locations all over Nepal within this fiscal year as its pilot programme for establishing a nationwide branchless banking network,” he said. “The service will allow rural customers to deposit and withdraw money in a secure environment right from their doorsteps.”

Mega Bank has Branchless Banking Service in Sindhupalchowk, Rupandehi, Morang, Sarlahi, Chhatpipara and Parsa and has plans to start the service in Bhalam of Kaski, Narpani and Argatosh of Arghakhanchi, Shamshergunj of Banke, Chuprabazar of Dailekh, Dhunche and Chilime of Rasuwa, Nalang of Dhading and Thulosirubari of Sindhupalchok in the near future.

The bank has also started providing easy access of micro loan for agro based businesses and small entrepreneurs in these areas. Along with this, the bank provides all types of banking services like transfer of money from one account to another, mobile recharge, and bill payment.

“In line with the bank’s vision to cater to the needs of the people from ‘Halo to Hydro – Plough to Power’, it will be providing financial services to all strata of people under the entire economic pyramid,” said Shah, adding that services encompassing the populace at the bottom of the pyramid are through the focused business segment under Mega Micro Banking and with the implementation of Mega Branchless Banking.
