Meager increase in Nepse

This week’s final trading day also saw a slight gain in Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse). Today the ups and downs in sub-indices made the Nepse level like a see-saw which was moving between the red and green terrain. But at the end of the session the local bourse was able to sustain itself in green pasture as all the sub-indices apart from Banking sector settled in the green. Overall, Nepse increased by a meager point of 0.7 to rest at 397.53 level.
Today among the traded scrips, Public Development Bank Ltd. (PDB), settled at Rs 75, was the top gainer with Rs 6 or 8.70%.Likewise, Sahayogi Bikas Bank Ltd. Promoter Share(SBBLJP) which had the highest share traded of 39,000 units was the Top Loser with Rs 25 or 16.67% and it closed at Rs 125. Whereas, among the general scrips Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs117, was the Top Loser with Rs 9 or 7.14%.
Similarly, in terms of transaction Country Development Bank Ltd.( CNDBL), closed at Rs 73, had the highest transaction of 103 times. And in case of highest share traded among the public scrips Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), settled at Rs 590, topped with 12,465 units. Whereas, Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL), settled at Rs 1,050, topped the category of highest turnover with Rs 9,223,202; in which Broker No 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) was the most active broker with 43.30% stand alone dealing of CHCL, amounting Rs 3,993,308 of 3,852 units via 5 transactions in which 1 was matching transaction of 3,680 units worth Rs 3,812,480.
Sectoral wise, apart from banking sector decline of 0.26% points all other remaining sub-indices added points today. The sector which added the most was Insurance with 1.12% followed by Hydro, Others, Hotels, Development and Finance with 0.88%, 0.74%, 0.19%, 0.13% and 0.06% respectively. Sensitive index rose by 0.12 or 0.12% points to rest at 102.23 level while Float index surged by 0.023 or 0.7% points to close at 30.39 level.
Total scrips traded for the day was 92 with 42 gainers and 38 losers with total turnover of Rs 56,500,239 which is comparatively Rs 9,952,389 or 21.38% higher than prior trading session. Overall 185,170 units of shares were traded via 1392 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 376,188.88 Millions.
