Maruti Suzuki's Celerio to hit Nepali roads this month

KATHMANDU, June 8: Maruti Suzuki India will be launching Celerio in Nepal by the end of June, according to CG MotoCorp, the authorized distributor for Suzuki four-wheelers in Nepal.
Bhakta Katuwal, marketing manager of the company said that CG MotoCorp is desperately waiting to launch Celerio in Nepal as the new hatchback is expected to play a key role in strengthening market for Suzuki in the country. “We are under discussion to roll out the car as soon as possible,” Katuwal said, adding, “We have been planning its launch on the last week of June.”
The new Celerio sports 1.0 liter, K-Series engine that produces a peak power of 67bph and peak torque of 90Nm at 3,500 rpm. The car is equipped with an EZ technology that makes the drive easy and allows drivers to change the manual gears without clutch, according to the company.
Being launched in three trim levels--LXI, VXI and ZXI--the Celerio is the first car in its segment to feature an automated manual transmission, according to the company. Maruti Suzuki has provided the option of a five speed manual or automatic transmission in Celerio that helps to deliver fuel-efficiency of 23 km per liter.
The LXI variant is equipped with power steering, air conditioning and body colored bumpers. There´s also a low fuel warning lamp in the instrument cluster. Similarly, the VXI variant, in addition, gets a chrome grille, wheel covers, day and night interior mirror, central locking, all four power windows and 14-inch wheels.
The top-end ZXI trim gets body colored door handles, body colored wing mirrors with indicators, a four-speaker audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry and steering-mounted controls. The steering itself can be adjusted for height and there´s also the rear washer, demister and a driver´s airbag, according to the company. The ZXI adds fog lamps, alloy wheels, ABS and height adjustable driver´s seat.
Expected to compete with Hyundai´s Grandi10 and Honda´s Brio, price of Celerio is yet to be set for Nepali market, according to Katuwal. “We have been informed that the Celerio has been doing brisk business in Indian market after it was launched in February,” he said.
