Market's Reaction to Central Bank's Surprising Move? A Minimal 1.2 Points Downtick

The NEPSE index lost a minimal 1.2 points today and closed at 2,815.39. The index opened at 2,770.02 and immediately made the intraday low at 2,763.19. The index then made the intraday high at 2,835.39, before eventually closing at 2,815.39.

41,813,994 shares traded hands via 1,47,493 transactions. The trading of 215 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 14.768 Arba. This is the highest intraday turnover in the history of NEPSE.

While the float index lost 0.26 points and closed at 193.42, the Sensitive index is at 503.70 after losing 0.28 points.

Api Power Company Limited (API) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 43.28 crores.

More than 15 highest gainers have technically closed at the upper limit of 10% gain today.

On the other side of things, Samata Gharelu Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMATA) lost the most 5.23%.

Six sectors lost while seven sectors gained today. Trading gained the most 6.72%, followed by the Hydropower sector that gained an impressive 4.57%. In contrast, the Microfinance sector lost the most 3.41%.
