Market Summary: First Trading Day of FY 2078/79 and NEPSE Gains Highest-Ever Points for a Single Day

The NEPSE index closed at 2,980.61 today after gaining 97.21 points from the last trading day's close. This is the highest ever points-gain for a single trading session. This commences the journey of Nepal's capital market for the new fiscal year 2078/79. The NEPSE index seems to have bounced back in great health from the support zone at the 2,800 level, but whether the index will surpass the most recent high remains a puzzle to be solved for this fiscal year.

In the fiscal year 2077/78, the index gained an impressive 111.64% and closed at 2,883.38.

A total of 28,863,093 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 11.638 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than the previous trading sessions' turnover of Rs. 8.14 Arba. 221 scrips traded hands via 116,294 transactions.

The float index is at 207.99 after gaining 7.66 points while the Sensitive index is at 560.96 after gaining 19.55 points.

Manjushree Finance Limited (MFIL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 40.99 crore closing at a market price of Rs. 1,281 per share. The units of Laxmi Equity Fund (LEMF) traded the most.

A total of five companies have hit the 10% positive circuit today. They are Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL), Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL), Sindhu Bikas Bank Limited (SINDU), Ngadi Group Power Limited (NGPL), and Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL).

Meanwhile, NIBL Samriddhi Fund - 2 (NIBSF2) lost the most 5.37%.

All sectors gained today. The Development Bank sector gained an impressive 5.05%.
