Market sentiments lift Nepse up by 0.78 Percent

Today Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) saw more than half of the scrips traded rose by 2.27% in an average. With the Brokers making relation with Banks to provide margin lending to the investors, the market sentiment seems to be in positive with this news. The benchmark index today added 2.93 or 0.78% to close at 377.18 points.
Today also saw the transaction commence of the merger companies Business Development Bank Ltd. and Universal Finance Co. Ltd as Business Universal Development Bank Ltd. with stock symbol BUDBL.
According to Nepse, Asian Life Insurance Co. Ltd, which was the top loser with Rs 9 loss yesterday closed today at Rs 171, was the Top Gainer with Rs 15 or 9.62%. Whereas Citizen Investment Trust, settled at Rs 560, was the Top Loser with Rs 196 or 25.93%. Likewise, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited topped the category of highest shares traded by means of 47,835 units. Similarly, Everest Bank Limited (EBL), closed at Rs 954, toppled Standard Chartered Bank Limited (SCB) to reclaim top position in terms of highest turnover and transaction with 10,200 shares worth Rs 9,645,212 via 105 transactions; in which Broker No 20 (Sipla Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 72.11% stand alone dealing of EBL, amounting Rs 6,954,864 of 7,368 units via 67 transactions which includes matching of 428 units worth Rs. 401,594.
Apart from the Development sector loss of 0.31 or 0.13% points, all other sectors climbed today. Hydro was the top gainer with 1.46% to settle at 623.88 points followed by Hotels, Banking, Others, Insurance and Finance with 1.02%, 0.94%, 0.85%, 0.83% and 0.1%. Likewise, Sensitive index rose by 0.77 or 0.80% to settle at 97.02 points while Float index also added 0.65 or 0.193% point to close at 29.84 points.
Total scrips traded for the day was 77 with 42 gainers and 22 losers with total turnover of Rs 47,760,209 which is comparatively Rs 5,732,195 or 14% higher than prior trading session. Overall 187,467 units of shares were traded via 979 transactions with total market capitalization of Rs. 356,231.65 millions.
